As an MBA who managed to land a PM job at FAANG, I would say that I wouldn’t be able to do it without my 2-year MBA. The most valuable takeaways from MBA for me were 2-year time for building up credentials in tech through internship, classes and side projects; lots of networking and a job-seeking platform. Lots of tech roles are open to MBA only, especially for PM jobs. Obviously there is more time and cost efficient way to navigate career transition but I don’t think the odds of landing a top tech job is as high. Also don’t forget about the great life time value that you can get from MBA. It’s more than jobs.
